Quick Update and Recent Pics

I haven't posted since the Monday of Spring Break (almost two weeks ago), so I'll try to give a quick update. Spring Break was great! Although I didn't get as much done as I wanted (probably accomplished HALF the list I posted here), I did get a few things done. I went to all my yearly appointments (medical, dental, etc.) and I did a few small things around the house. More importantly, I spent time with baby and hubby. Heaven!

Since then, life's been back to normal. I had a great week at work. I'm currently teaching my favorite application (Excel), so I'm having so much fun (and I think the students are too). Morgan got an ExerSaucer last weekend. Her daddy and Auntie Ashleigh assembled it, and she's been enjoying it ever since.

I'm just getting back from a day's trip to my hometown. My cousin and his wife are having a baby, so Morgan and I attended the shower (it was kid-friendly!). Morgan also got a chance to visit with her MeMaw (my mom), her Granna (my grandma), and Great Aunt, Lois (the aunt that had never met her!). It was SO good seeing everybody!

Below are just some recent random pics. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Fun in the Sun!

Sorta. One of Morgan's favorite things right now is her playgym, which has a sun at the very top. The sun plays music and lights up. We played with it this morning and I got a couple of shots. I'll also include a couple of shots of Morgan and her parents, who play with her every day like she's a new toy!

I LOVE Mr. Sun!

What are you doing, Mommy?

Mooove, Mommy! I can't see Mr Sun!

Morgan and Her Buddy (Dad!)

Hey, Daddy!

Mommy, I'm really sleepy, but I'm fighting to keep my eyes open.

Had to post this one as it shows that I am truly the mother of a baby. Morgan had been in fighting-sleep mode. As evidenced by my shirt, instead of going to sleep, she chewed on on my clothes.

Couple of Pics from the Weekend

Here are some shots we took after dinner Saturday.

Spring Break! Yeah!

I am soooo happy it's Spring Break! I very much needed a break to get everything back in order. I haven't quite felt like I was on top of anything since returning back to work. More than anything, I'm excited about being able to spend more time with my little sweetie. I don't plan to take her to daycare at all this week -- she's all ours!

Let's see...what were we doing last year during Spring Break? We didn't really do anything big. We did visit our friends in Florida a couple of days. Martha was about 5-6 months pregnant with her little one. And guess who else was pregnant at the time (and didn't know it)! ME! Just a few days after returning from that trip I took a test. And the rest is history!

So, what will we be doing this year? NOTHING! Hey, we just had a baby! Translation: we're broke! :-) There has never been a Spring Break better than this one, though. Spending time with her is heaven on earth.

I do plan to do some things I've been needing to do for weeks. Okay -- months. Here's my list:
  1. Send thank you notes. Wait -- I'm not that bad. I was really good about sending thank you notes after the baby showers. They were sent out literally a day or two afterwards. It's the gifts we got after Morgan came along that I still have to thank folks for. If you're one of those people, please forgive my tackiness.
  2. My house. This is probably the biggest thing. I have got to get ORGANIZED! I can honestly say that Morgan's room is always nice and tidy. I don't know -- maybe I don't want her to know her mom is a pack rat! It's especially silly since her room is probably the place in the house where she spends the least time. She's only in there for diaper changes, baths, getting ready in the mornings, and getting ready for bed. She sleeps in our bedroom (in her pack 'n play) and she plays in the living room. Anyway, I've already started in the right foot. We did our bedroom today! :)
  3. Spend time with my family. I'm from Talladega -- just under an hour's drive -- and I never go home! My grandma made a comment last weekend (over the phone) that the next time she'll see Morgan, she'll be walking. How awful! So I made it my business to go see her this past weekend. I plan to go back at least once to see her again and one of my aunts (who hasn't even met Morgan)!
  4. Pack up Morgan's old clothes. I've actually already done this. Did it this past weekend. Yep. My little butterball has gone up two sizes since she was born. She now wears size 3-6 months, so I have a box of size newborn and size 3 months. I wish I could give them away; but we're keeping them just in case Baby #2 is a girl. Yeah. I'm frugal.
  5. Take walks. It's supposed to be sunny and in the 70s, so I'd like for us to take Morgan out at least a few days this week. We've yet to walk the neighborhood, so that should be fun!

That's all I can think of right now. I had a long list (in my head) Saturday morning. I never got around to updating the blog (or simply writing them down), so my list is very short right now. I'll add, if necessary.

And I'm going to try to put up some recent pics of Morgan soon. Especially since most people that visit our blog don't exactly come to read my ramblings. Ha!

Have a good week, everybody! :-)

Three-Month Pictures!

Morgan is three months today! I cannot believe how time has flown (as they say it does when you're having fun). Morgan is such a sweet baby -- even at 4 AM when she thinks it's time to start the day (and Mommy and Daddy are dog-dead tired). Words cannot express how blessed we feel to have her.

Below are her three-month pictures (taken at Portrait Innovations). These were the first professional pictures taken since her birth, so I was a little nervous. Sure enough she fell asleep on the way there! Luckily they weren't quite ready for us at our appointment time, so I had a few minutes to try to wake her. And as soon as it was our time to go, she woke up! She wasn't exactly in the best mood, but she didn't cry!

We got tons of shots; I'm posting a few...okay, a little more than a few.

Mom, did you really just wake me up for this?

And who are these people?

Hey, they seem pretty nice.

Now THIS is comfortable.

This is the life...

Wait -- what happened to the color around here?!

Oops! Showing my undies!
Okay, Mom and Dad, I'm over this.
Hmmm...wonder what this tastes like.
Comfy!

Hey, Mom and Dad, this looks just like my rubber ducky from home!
But 10 times bigger!

Glad to have clothes on again...sheesh!

I'm officially in a good mood now.

Mom and Dad, these people are pretty funny!

I gave up all these smiles...I sure hope there's a bottle waiting for me after this!

Morgan's First Snow...Sorta

We got a pretty good bit of snow this morning (why, why, why couldn't it have come 24 hours later?)! So of course we take Morgan out for her first snow experience. We go through her closet to find a little cover all/snow suit thingy. We find one that's a size newborn that she never even got to wear. Her daddy insists we put her in it. Um, no. Failed attempt. Then we find one that's way too big; well, at least we could zip it! :)

Anyway, I don't think Morgan ever saw the snow! :) The wind was blowing sooo hard. She had her eyes closed the whole time. I guess we could always show her the pictures years later!
