Free Books for the Young Child in Your Life. Really.

This is something I want to share with those of you with children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc. that are younger than five.

A few months ago, a fellow December 2008 mom told me about Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. I read about it, signed up, and am so glad I did. Morgan gets a free book in the mail every month. For free.

Dolly Parton basically has this initiative where she wants to introduce a love for reading early. This was right up my alley since I love reading, my mom loves reading, and my hopes are that Morgan will love to read, too.

A couple of months after I signed up (which the site says that's about how long it would be before you get your first book), Morgan received The Little Engine that Could in the mail! It was a little label with her name on it, too. I thought it was so cute.

As promised, a month later, we received another book - The Gingerbread Man! It's so exciting to know that we can look forward to a new book every month until she's five!

So if you have time, visit the Web site and sign up the young child in your life.
