Not Too Much Going On...

Besides having so much fun watching Morgan grow and learn, we haven't been up to too much. She's officially a resident of Morgan's Room, Alabama so there's a little more sleep going on in the Kimble household. We've tried rice cereal a few times since visiting the doctor. Soon we'll be giving it to her every day. To prepare, Danny put up the high chair over the weekend. We put her in there and fed her once. She seemed to like it. :)

We also purchased our first box of diapers this past week! We were still using what was given to us as gifts. (We are so grateful to our family and friends for keeping Morgan "diapered up" the first FOUR MONTHS of her life. You guys are amazing.) We actually still have a couple of unopened packs left that we never got to use (she outgrew them). So I'll probably attempt to exchange those for the right size. And after using several brands of diapers, we now have a "preference" (what I asked every mom when I was pregnant). Here's what I thought of those we tried:

  • Parents Choice -- Their wipes are great, but their diapers? Not so much.

  • Playskool Plushies -- I didn't even know Playskool made diapers. They were fine -- until they were wet. They were bulky -- even when they were a little wet.

  • Huggies -- These didn't really impress me like I thought they would. I had a couple of leaks with these, and they smelled funny when they were wet.

  • Luvs -- I actually liked these at first. They were not very bulky at all, and Morgan seemed comfortable in them. The only thing I didn't like was they weren't very stretchy at the waist. Which is enough reason for me not to buy them. That sucks since they're pretty inexpensive (and I'm Mrs. Frugal).

  • Pampers -- The WINNER. I particularly like the Swaddlers Sensitive line. It has the wetness indicator line, and it has this breathability material made just for sensitive skin.

So, I now have "experience" with diapers, and can tell the next pregnant woman what worked for Morgan (though it differs for every baby). :) After she passes the 18-pound mark, we'll have to go to something different. Maybe another Pampers line. Unfortunately, it seems the Swaddlers line only goes through size 2. :( We live right by a Target, so maybe we will try (and like) the Target brand diapers (heard from a friend that they're pretty good). As long as Morgan is comfortable, her skin can breathe, and we don't get any leaks, I'm game on the store brand diapers!

I purchased the diapers from, a great little Web site I found through a fellow blogger. They have manufacturer's coupons and sales on all things baby. FREE SHIPPING, too, when you spend over $49 (not hard when you're buying diapers). Oh, fast service, too! I ordered on Tuesday and they were on my doorstep Thursday. Not bad! If you're a mom to a baby, or plan to buy diapers for someone having a baby, try Put in my code when you check out (GERR8259)! You'll get $10 off your first diaper order. And, yes, I'll get some credit to my account for referring you! :)

As you guys can see, from reading the past minute or so, I have NOTHING to talk about it! Sorry to bore you with diaper talk!

Oh, Morgan did attend her first (of many to come) Alabama tailgate. Saturday was the A-Day game. It started out a little cool and drizzly, but it ended up being okay weather. She got to meet a LOT of people. Most of the people were around when I was several months pregnant last fall, so it was like they already "knew" her. Oh! Quick story. On my way to the bathroom (I always walk across the street to a girls dorm), I had a random stranger stop me. This is how the conversation went:

Random Man: Ma'am. Ma'am!

Me: Yes? (Smiling and thinking: Do I know you? Should I know you? I'm so bad! I don't remember you!)

Random Man: You had the baby! What did you have?

Me: I had a girl! (Still smiling, but thinking: Oh, my God, he knows me. And I don't remember him! Shame, shame!)

Random Man: Well, congrats! I used to feel so sorry for you last season when you'd come through here every 30 minutes to go to the bathroom...

Me and Random Man finished the brief conversation, and I was relieved to know he was just someone that noticed a big, pregnant girl walking to and from the restroom last fall. I think he was a vendor. I must have looked huge and very uncomfortable for him to "feel sorry" for me! Apparently I felt better than I looked! He was very nice. I plan to take Morgan over to meet him in the fall...

Anyway, I didn't get a lot of pictures like I wanted to, but here's one of Morgan with her daddy. She did GREAT, by the way! She never got fussy, and she was pretty friendly to the many people that held her. Have a great week, everybody!
