First Week of Summer!

Our first week of summer was spent doing something at the very top of my Summer To Do list -- visiting and spending time with friends and family! We visited some of my family in Atlanta and some of Danny's family in Raleigh. We also spent some time with friends. It was SO nice seeing everybody. We plan to do a lot more visiting this summer.

We met up with Tanya and Dylan and their family for lunch on Memorial Day.

The next day we took off on a road trip -- me, Danny, my mother-in-law, and Morgan, of course! First stop: Atlanta.

Morgan w/her Big Daddy Laurence (my dad)!

Here's Morgan with her big cousin, Jerry.
(She's not named after me -- she's named after her dad, my Uncle Jerry. :)

We then made our way to Raleigh to visit Danny's great aunt and uncle (great-great for Morgan).

While we were in Raleigh, we tried to do some tourist stuff. We visited the NC Museum of Natural Sciences.

Here's that same spot -- but the inside.
You can see how large the dinos are compared to the little girl there.

These are not dino teeth, by the way, but a type of great white shark.
Not ancient, either! Last one was spotted in 1992! SCARY!

Here we are right outside a rainforest exhibit.

Here's Morgan and her daddy browsing the museum.

By the way, this is mostly what Morgan did during her first museum visit. :)

We had to wake her up to eat. Then she played around with her daddy.

And never noticed the huge bug above her head. :)

And this is random, but I have seen a rainbow no more than 10 times in my life. So I'm always fascinated when I see one. We spotted this one on the way to Raleigh.

After Raleigh, we stopped in Atlanta again to see my Aunt (Morgan's great aunt) Linda.

Then when we got back home, Morgan went to her first kids birthday party!

And that was our first week of summer! Now time to rest up and get some things done around the house. Next weekend is Atlanta again to see my friend Tia walk across the stage to get her MBA. I'm so excited because I haven't seen her in a couple of months!

I may update again between then, though, since I have a little time on my hands. Have a great week, everybody!

First Ever Video Post :)

Morgan's been babbling a little more these days, but even more when she's tired (remember I told you about that?). Here's a video of her getting sleepy this evening. She did this for about 45 minutes before her daddy got her and put her to sleep. :)

Hello, Summer!

Not much to report! Summer has officially begun in our household! Our last day of school and Morgan's last day of daycare was Friday. I'm SO pumped!

Morgan and I went to hang out with my mom, aunt, and grandma on Saturday while Danny attended a spring game. We had a great time just hanging out with them.

Below is a picture of Morgan and her favorite teacher at daycare. Her name is Ms. Angelia and she loves Morgan to pieces! She cried when I told her Morgan would be spending the summer at home. I can honestly say that I really don't worry about Morgan when I'm at work. Ms. Angelia takes REALLY good care of her. I thank God for her every day. We plan to visit her at least once a week this summer; and then she'll get her Cupcake (her nickname for Morgan) back in the fall. :)
The pic below is of Morgan and my grandma. She retired about 10 years ago, and since then, we can't keep up with her! She's just coming back from a birthday party on this pic. I hope I look that good when I'm old (love you, Grandma)! :)
Have a great week, everybody!

Fabulous Weekend and Looking Forward to the Week!

Just coming off of a fabulous weekend -- fabulous because I stayed at home the entire time! Danny was out of town for a spring game, so Morgan's Honey Gran (Danny's mom) came to keep us company. She and Morgan did a little shopping Saturday while I stayed home and got a few things done around the house.

This week is the last week of school, and I'm hyped about that. All of my grades are done; all I have to do is give exams, enter them in the system, tell my students how much I loved being their teacher this year, and say my goodbyes! I love what I do, but I need a break!

I'm about to start my very first REAL summer vacation. You see, I have NEVER, EVER had a summer off in my entire life. When I was a litle girl, it was Girl Scout camp. When I was a little older, it was cheer (practice, camp, etc.) -- every summer for seven years. When I was in college, it was either a summer job, classes, or both. And since I've been teaching, I've taught summer school every year. This year? NOTHING! I get to spend the entire summer with my little sweetheart -- oh, my husband, too. :) I am sooo excited.

I plan to do a few things. Besides spending lots of time with my two favorite people in the world, I want to continue on my quest of finding the organized Gerri (I've never met her, but I think I'm getting close to finding her). I hope to have Morgan in an infant swimming class. I hope to visit family and friends that I haven't seen in a while. In between, I hope to surf the tons of blogs on the Net, finish the Twilight series, and devote more than one day a week to checking my Facebook. That's actually very important right now because next year, it will be 10 years since I graduated high school. What does that mean? REUNION soon! And who was senior class president? You guessed it! So I guess that means I've got a few "official" things to do over the summer. But I've already been in contact with some key classmates on Facebook (including some of the original SGA folks), and we're going to make a great team -- just like we did almost 10 years ago. :) We've already started discussing the first steps. A year it not a long time, so we hope to get all the big things out of the way this summer.

Well, it's Sunday night, and I've got to get ready for the week -- the last week! I'm pumped! Here are a couple of pics from the weekend. You can clearly see from the pics that Morgan's feeling a whole lot better. She was in a great mood the entire weekend. All she did was giggle, squeal, etc. SILLY BABY! Have a great week, everybody!

General Update (Mother's Day, Silly Morgan, My New Toy, Etc.)

Finally got a chance to sit down and update (sorry, no outside pics or video yet)...

Morgan's five months old! Her little personality is just developing and we're enjoying every minute of it. She's doing so many new things. She reaches for everything; then when she gets a hold of it, it goes straight in her mouth. She also "razzes" a lot. I think it's the cutest thing.

I just celebrated my first Mother's Day. :) It was a bit bittersweet since Morgan wasn't feeling well. (She was groggy and had a little fever all weekend, so I took her to see the doc today. She was just fighting off a little cold. She seems to be doing better now.) Other than that, the day was wondeful; we spent the day with family -- brunch and a play. Good times!

This is pretty much what's been going on with us! I have less than two weeks left of school (work), so I'll be pretty busy. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their week!

RANDOM PICS

Morgan still loves her ExerSaucer.

One of her many favorite things...the TV remote. I'm attempting to get a picture here...

You see what she's more interested in...

I can't pull her away from it...

So I finally give her what she wants...

And I eventually get what I want.

We're officially starting rice cereal...

Yep, friends, an empty bowl.

Morgan's Latest Imagination Library Book
Dinner Time Just this Evening (if you look closely, you can even see the cereal around her mouth)

When she gets really excited, she attempts to stand up in the Bumbo. Silly kid!

For those of you that only care to hear about Morgan, you can stop here. The last few pics are about her mom (boring)!!

Since I've had a baby, this is what I spend a lot of time doing.

Leave it up to me to pretty much lose all the pregnancy weight, and then gain almost 15 pounds. (Who does that?!) So I thought it was a great opportunity to take advantage of this! I bought this almost two weeks ago. It still looks just like this (in the box). Not a good sign.

And last but not least, folks, look what I finally got. Yep! Mother's Day gift to myself!
