Update :)

Not much has been going on with us! Work has been great! I am SO blessed to absolutely love what I do. It's icing on the cake that this year's freshman class is full of ANGELS. I'm still adjusting to the working mom thing. Summertime spoiled me. Morgan has been great at daycare. She's one of the most active babies there now that's she's older. It won't be too long before she moves to the Infant II room. :-( And Danny's been great. Football season is going well. We won our first regular season game Friday night.

Today we hung out with Morgan's PaPa, Honey, and Auntie Ash. Her grandparents bought her two pairs of shoes today and a little coat and hat set for the fall. It was our first time getting her little feet fitted and pretty much our first time going to buy her shoes. Since she's obviously never really worn shoes, she looked at them like they were toys attached to her feet. That probably means she'll want to play with them and the straps more than she wants to wear them! We'll see!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'll be spending my Sunday doing some much-needed cleaning/organizing, and try to use that evening to just rest up. I have been getting VERY little sleep (my own fault), and I know that's just not healthy. And I gotta stay healthy for my little one -- she needs me. Speaking of healthy, can you say PARANOID about this swine flu thing? I wash my hands ALL DAY -- especially because of my work environment -- and can only pray it helps protect me and my family from this little epidemic. And just a quick note: If you are around anyone that's more at risk with this thing -- pregnant women, babies, the elderly -- please be responsible, considerate, and smart and protect yourself to protect them. PLEASE!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! I'll leave you with some pics from today.

Her first-ever shoe fitting. :)

Checking out the shoe fitting girl.

"Hmm...what are these? Looks like new toys to me!"

As you can see, she already untied the shoe strings!

"Wait, where are the laces on these Daddy?"

It's Time for Some Hoover Football!

I'm really excited that football season is here! Our lives pretty much revolve around football this time of year. Hoover football on Friday nights and Alabama football on Saturdays. Last night Hoover defeated Oxford in the Champions Challenge at Crampton Bowl (Montgomery). Final score was 32-27. The regular season starts Friday! I'm so excited!

This year it's extra exciting because it's Mo's first football season. She has football in her blood (Kimble), so I'm not surprised that she seemed to enjoy the game last night. Last weekend when we were at the Alabama scrimmage, she wasn't able to stay out there very long because of the hot, humid weather. But last night's weather was PERFECT, and she was such a good sport the whole time!

Chillin' with her PaPa Coach (Danny's dad).
Loving on Auntie Ashleigh (Danny's sister).
And her jewelry.
The team shortly after they arrived.
Warming up. And that's DK doing his coaching thing. He doesn't like it when I take pictures of him - he'll kill me if he knew this one was on the blog. :)
The run-through sign (quick backstory: a few of our coaches, including our head coach, actually came from Oxford. So thanks, Oxford, for the coaches.)
A little entertainment during the game.
Someone's getting tired.
Awful picture, but here's the team with the trophy. :)
And so many of you have asked how Morgan's doing after her little stomach virus. This morning was the first time I've changed a normal diaper in over a week, so she seems to be doing much better! I know one thing -- she is ALL OVER this place. She's not doing the classic crawling yet (she may be one of those babies that skip it entirely -- who knows), but she's getting around using other forms of mobility. Here's one. Hilarious! Have a great week, everybody!

Deja Vu!

Guess who's sick after their first full week of daycare (again!). Morgan's been feeling a little under-the-weather for a few days, but I thought it was teething symptoms. She had diarrhea, restlessness, and a little bit of a runny nose (which I had no idea could be a teething symptom). Well, her little diarrhea hasn't been getting better at all, and it's to the point where the poop goes everywhere -- most recently, up the front of her shirt. So daycare called me at work today to tell me to come pick her up. She was the third baby sent home today. They think it's a virus. It's funny -- when I walked in, they were disinfecting EVERYTHING. And if you know me well, you'd know I could do nothing but appreciate that (I should really be in germophobe anonymous). I truly appreciate that they try hard to protect other children.

So she went to see her doctor today and she thinks it's viral, too. So Mo will stay home tomorrow -- she and her daddy are going to have fun without me. She hasn't quite been her happy little self; I just pray that my little sweetheart gets better soon!

This pic I snapped yesterday sort of depicts her mood lately.
Enjoy the rest of your week!

Playing Outside!

Morgan played outside for a few minutes today! All she wanted to do was play with the grass and stare at the crepe myrtles (all those shots where she's looking like she's daydreaming, she's really staring at plants)! I've sort of avoided outside because of the awful heat and my fear that the grass would do something terrible to her already so-sensitive skin; but I figured a few minutes at a time and a couple of blankets to shield her skin, we'd be okay! And I think she liked it!

Attempt #2: Update

If you follow me on Twitter, then you know that this is my second attempt at updating the blog in the past 24 hours. I started last night, but ended up asleep with a laptop on my lap. I was exhausted after my first week back at work!

My first week back went very well, actually. The new students are amazingly polite and well-behaved. The year just started so positively. What has me exhausted is just getting back into the routine. And Morgan was tired, too, this week. She'd be exhausted when she'd get home from daycare. She doesn't nap as easily/frequently as she did when she was home for the summer. All of this will balance out in the next week or so, though, so this pure exhaustion on both of our parts is hopefully temporary.

Besides adjusting to the new life, we haven't been up to very much. Today we hung out with Auntie Ashleigh at the Alabama scrimmage game. Mo enjoyed looking at the big boys running around (what little time she was out there). We also went out to dinner for the first time in two weeks. I had Shrimp and Grits from Baumhower Wings. Yumz! We ate Baumhower Wings my entire pregnancy, and I couldn't enjoy my favorite entree as much I'd have liked. But now that I'm not withchild, I am enjoying all the seafood I can!

Why haven't we eaten out in two weeks, you may be asking yourself (or maybe not.) Well, because I COOK now! Yep, I've been getting me some recipes off the Kraft and Campbell's Web site and have been testing them all on my poor husband. All the dishes have been successful except one -- there was that time I used uncooked rice for a recipe that called for instant rice. FAILURE! If you follow me on Twitter, then you already knew that. :)

The Underwoods came to visit last weekend, and I had the opportunity to take little KJ's picture. After I got a few shots of him and Mo, I took KJ outside so I could photograph the heck out of him. Man, one-year-olds are fast! He wore me out! But I had a ball with him.

Mo checking out KJ's kicks.

Look at this cute face!
Well, I'm exhausted again tonight! I hope to update the blog again in the next couple of days. In hte meantime, I am taking my butt to bed!! Good night, and hope you have a great weekend! (Note: I'm literally too tired to spell check this...forgive me in advance for any errors.)

Lotta Stuff!

I often go through my day saying "I need to blog about this." By the time I get to updating the blog, either I forget it completely or I just leave it out in fear of "blabber poison" to my blog. But tonight, I'm just letting it go. I'll even need subtitles! :)

Someone's Eight Months!

Yep, our baby girl turned eight months yesterday. It's just so fun to see her grow and develop in all these different ways. She's a creeper -- not quite crawling, but something between scooting, going backwards, etc. She manages to get across the room in the blink of an eye. She does all these weird things with her legs and arms that let me know that I need to start babyproofing. And she's obsessed with the legs on the those little tables we use to eat dinner in front of the TV. We now have to put those up as soon as we're done. They're so light -- she could easily tilt them over!

As far as her eating, she gets lots of fruits and veggies. She still loves oatmeal. We don't even have to add fruit to it for her to eat it. She's not in love with fruit, anyway -- we have to add it to a veggie for her to eat it. Sweet potatoes and carrots are her favorite. And she started meat (chicken) today -- and hated it. Speaking of food, I'm still making her food. She's yet to have a jar of store-bought baby food. I've even managed to travel a few times and use the food I made at home. And that speaks volumes, 'cause y'all know I've traveled three hours with no formula before. Which reminds me I really need to add a jar or two of (store-bought) baby food to my diaper bag for WHEN I forget again ...

Overall, we're just still smitten with our little girl. I have a feeling that'll never change...

Summer. Is. Over.
Yep, I officially go back to work Monday. I remember last summer feeling so content because I managed to accomplish a whole lot. Of course I did all kinds of baby stuff -- ordering nursery stuff, registering, etc. I finished my masters. I taught summer school. I organized all kinds of things in my house (nesting, I guess). This summer? Please. Remember that list of stuff I wanted to do? Well, I just did the fun stuff. All the stuff I needed to do? Ha. I'm a little bummed about it, to be honest. But what's done (or NOT done) is done , and I'll just have to get over it. Overall, I've had a GREAT, GREAT summer staying home with Morgan!

Coaches' Family Pic Day
The other day we took our family pic for the football program, and it felt weird having a child to include this year. :) Morgan did so well. She liked looking at all the kids, and even let some of the faculty hold her. The pics below were taken with my camera. Hopefully the one taken with the photographer's camera shows my true, slimmer self (yeah, right).
The Kids
My child probably sees a bug crawling on the sidewalk.

Other Happenings
DK's been out of town for camp, so Honey Gran (Danny's mom) has been kind enough to stay with us. Mo also got a chance to see her MeMaw (my mom) today, who she doesn't see as much. Before that, she saw her cousin Alteria. Alteria just started cheering, so we went to peek in on her practice.
Helping Daddy pack.
With her big cousin, Alteria.

Boot Camp
And now, with only a weekend left before going back to work, I have to organize my house (one of those things I didn't do over the summer). So, it's 1:39 AM, and I plan to stay up all night and at least get one room done (or started -- I'm not THAT motivated, LOL). Pray that I get some order to my house before Monday. Besides a little get-together at my boss's house tomorrow evening, organizing is all I'll be doing all weekend!

I hope you have a great one!
