A Country Christmas

"A Country Christmas" is the theme every year at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, and we are always here to see the beautiful display. Danny's family has been coming here for years working the WCA cheer competitions, and for the past seven, I've been with them. I usually work while I'm here, but took this year and last year off.  Want to guess why? :)

This year was extra special because guess who was wrapping up their own Christmas stay here as we were checking in?

Yep, my dad's family.  We knew they were checking out Saturday, so we drove up a day earlier than usual get to spend time with them.  That's three times we've seen them this month -- I think that's a record!  My aunts and cousin were also here, and my aunt's husband and my stepmom's brother.  It was so great seeing everybody!  We spent a little time with them before they drove back to Atlanta.

We ate at the mall, and I decided to take Morgan on the carousel while we were waiting to be seated.  It was her first time, so I was afraid she'd get on there and cry and they'd have to stop the ride.  But she liked it!  She was clapping DURING the ride.  We've just got to work on the HOLDING ON part. LOL.

Her PaPa Coach bought her a balloon while we were there.  It quickly became her new obsession.

It came back to the hotel with us, as you can see.

And out of all the years we've been here, I didn't think about taking touristy-like pictures until she was born.  I think it's extremely important that she can look back and see where all she's been.  My child has already visited six states outside of Alabama, and I don't have very many touristy-like pictures to show for it.  I plan to be better with that.  We have another trip coming up, so I plan to start there.

We took a picture last year in front of this same tree, but she was a tiny newborn in my arms. :)  That pic never made it to the blog because I was three weeks postpartum and felt I looked a hot mess.  But I don't care about that stuff anymore.  Which is why I didn't mind putting a full body shot on here knowing I feel extra chunky these days.

Hope everyone's having a great week!
