Loving It!

I finally cleaned up the blog a little, and I am loving the cleaner look -- aren't you?  And none of it comes from outside sites -- it's all from Blogger.  Which makes it easier to manage, I think.  I want to add separate pages soon and clean up the sides, but baby steps, baby steps.

Just a little general update.  No pics -- I just had the urge to write on the blog since it's all "different" and stuff now. :)

I know I write about the Monster all the time, but I know you're dying to know what DK and I have been up to. *Crickets. Crickets.*  Ha! Summer school started last week, and I teach 19 really good kids.  I only have 'em for a couple more weeks -- then my summer break really begins.  Summer school is pretty much "part-time" compared to the hours of regular school, so I still have the whole afternoon left every day.

I have some big cleaning/reorganization projects to do around my house this summer.  Remember that junk room that I wanted to clean last summer?  Well, it's still the junk room. I eventually want to make that Morgan's room (and make her room the office/guest room), so that's my motivation.  Then I want to get rid of a lot of stuff in the garage -- lots of good stuff that I wish I had the patience to sell.  But I have a feeling I'll be giving it all away or donating it.  I also want to start using my completely empty attic.  Our house doesn't have a lot of storage space at all, so I'm not sure why we haven't been using the attic already.  Anyway, I hope to make this summer a mix of work and play and be fairly successful at them both.

Oh, I almost forgot!  My 10-year class reunion is this weekend!  We didn't have as much a response as we hoped for, but I guess we're lucky to have as many coming as we are.  They say Facebook and the social networking cyberworld has changed the need for such things, but I guess I want stuff like that to say old-fashioned!  Anyway, I'm really excited about seeing my classmates!

What has DK been up to? He's doing his summer work with football.  Some people don't know that football is year-round.  The good thing is that summer schedules aren't as time-consuming -- he finishes up very early in the day.  He is enjoying his new position, and I enjoy seeing him enjoy it.  He'll probably get to some Braves games this summer as well as be sure we travel once or twice.  The beach is probably out for us.  That makes me sad because I know that is Danny's favorite thing to do, but maybe that'll give us an opportunity to visit other places.  I'm sure Danny will come up with something because that man loves to go!

Morgan went back to school today after being out two weeks.  I can't wait to pick her up today and see how her first day back went.  She's going to go for these next couple of weeks and then be out for the summer.  When she goes back in the fall, she'll be in a new class!  In this new class, she'll be wearing Pull-Ups and drinking from a regular cup (no sippy), so it'll be quite the transition.  But we're ready!  To tell you the truth, I haven't even THOUGHT about potty-training...but I guess in a few more months it'll be time to bring out that free potty training stuff I ordered (if you have a toddler and will be going through potty training soon, Pampers and Huggies are still competing for your business and are both offering free potty training stuff.  Go here and here to get it).  And I guess potty-shopping soon!  How fun is that gonna be? :)

Anyway, like I said several posts ago, I hope to be a tourist in my own area this summer.  Children's museums, the zoo, and all things Morgan will enjoy.  Even the public library -- they have storytime and puppet shows for toddlers (free entertainment -- I love it).  I also hope to get to the Georgia Aquarium as well as the Children's Museum of Atlanta.  SO FUN!  I can't wait 'til she's old enough to enjoy Disney World, Sea World, Six Flags and all of that.  But for now, we'll keep it at the age-appropriate, reasonably-priced entertainment. :)

Anyway, Happy Monday, everybody.  Wishing you a productive week!

  1. Hey!! That is the class d is starting in too so I'm hoping to get her in that location in september and her and mo would be in the same class! If not they will eventually be in the same class when we transfer from the other location. I'm so nervous about all the transitions of that class you talked about like potty training and drinking from a real cup! She actually came and told me she had to pee pee the other day and then I'm pretty sure she peed after that! I was shocked! I'm really excited for her to start school though and I think she will enjoy it. Hope we see yall soon!

  2. I just went to my ten-year reunion. It was so fun even though I totally dreaded it. (The blog post was entitled: "Off To My Ten Year College Reunion. Cry, Die, Or Have Fun.")
PS. You're family is SO cute!
