My Busy "No Agenda" Days

In my last post, I bragged about not having anything on the agenda the next few days.  And that held true.  But I actually got a lot done!

I got a chance to go back to my classroom and get rid of some things in my closet.  It was much needed -- and still not completely done -- but a lot better.  I also got a chance to shop (groceries and household items) without a husband rushing me out the store or a toddler that gets restless in the buggy.  After you have a child (and a husband - ha!), going to the store alone is a treat!  I also took a much-needed trip to the hair salon this week and even ran by the public library to sign Morgan up for the summer reading program.  We did the summer reading thing last year, but she was at that age where she wasn't extremely interested in being read to.  Now she LOVES when we read to her, so I think we're full-fledged participants this year and beyond.  So exciting!

Also this week, my friend Tanya visited from Virginia!  She's originally from Alabama, and brings her son Dylan to stay with her parents over the summer.  And pretty much anytime she comes home, she stays a night with us before going back.  I was just thinking how much we've done together - Tanya was my roommate in college and we were in each other's wedding.  We did AKA and a business fraternity together.  We were both in the business school at 'Bama State and even took a few classes together.  We've had a lot of good times, so it's always good when we get a chance to spend time together in our adult, responsible lives. Ha!

We grabbed a late lunch first (our faaaaaavorite pastime hands down).  Then we did a little shopping.  We snabbed these sunglasses at Ross for less than $10!  We're both thrifty girls, so we were giddy.  And then since Tanya has never been to Sips 'n Strokes, I knew when she first told me she'd be in town that I would take her.  She did such a good job! She was a bit Type A (if you've been to Sips 'n Strokes, you've heard them talk about "these people" - ha!), but she was no more Type A than most people are their first time.

The artist at work.

The finished masterpieces.

I've been to Sips 'n Strokes four or five times and most of my pictures are on shelves in my classroom.  A picture of martini glasses?...Probably not appropriate in a high school classroom.  No?

Here's the Monster w/Tanya.

We had a really good time and can't wait for Tanya to visit again.  Next time, though, we want Dylan, too!

And to end this post, I think I know someone that would give Venus and Serena a run for their money!

Watch out, now! :)

As for the next few days, we may go ahead and check out a kiddie museum, and I'll be doing some cleaning around the house and preparing for summer school.  Other than that, just chillin!  I hope you guys have a good week!
