He's 31!

Danny's birthday was yesterday! He was 22 when we started dating -- man, time flies!  (Thanks, Jazzy, for the cookie cake!)

We spent the day in Tuscaloosa, of course.  The weather was beautiful -- very relaxing.

Morgan Monster wasn't feeling all that great, but she's feeling much better today.  She's her usual funny self, so Mama's happy.

I skipped my sorority line reunion this weekend.  My original plans were to attend Friday's events only, but they started so early.  It would've required me missing a day of work -- which would've been okay if I wasn't trying to save my days for when I take maternity leave again.  No, I'm not pregnant and don't plan to be in the near-near future, but eventually we want to have another baby.  I don't want to have to think about having enough days when the time comes.  Then my mom is having surgery in a few weeks, and I plan to take a couple of days off with her, too, so the reunion was just bad timing for me.  I hope I can make the next one!

I had a great week at work -- our FBLA chapter raised almost $1,800 for the March of Dimes!  This week pretty much wraps up the first grading period -- already 1/4 the way through the school year.  It's going by so fast!

I start taking a class this week -- wish me luck with that!  I haven't done "school work" since before Morgan. This won't be a grad school class through a university, but a 10-week (online) course offered by the state (though I wouldn't be surprised if the workload is similar).  I'll be trained on how to to teach or facilitate an online course, basically.  I'm pretty excited about it because I know that, before long, online courses will become just as common for middle and high school as they are for colleges.  It's well on its way, actually -- my former co-worker, Molly, already teaches an online Spanish course to Alabama high schoolers.  So when the State sent out the list of courses offered (free, by the way, so I have nothing to lose), I immediately jumped on this one.  I also thought it'd be a perfect opportunity to see how I could handle going back to school.  We'll see! :)

Hope everyone has a great week!

  1. I didn't realize you and Danny had birthdays so close together. How fun!! Love his AL cake. I love your cute Roll Tide tote with the monogram. We were going to come by and visit your tailgate Saturday and just didn't get over there. Hopefully we can come by for Homecoming.

  2. my husband turned 31 this year too :) It's a good age difference!

Will you send me the link to the free graduate classes? If I don't go back to teaching I will probably have to take some additional classes to keep up my certificate. And if I can get some for free, that would be ideal!
