Little Trip to the Zoo

Okay, so our day didn't go as planned.  I thought we'd spend it doing things around the house.  When I saw the forecast for the day (sunny, mid 70s!), I just couldn't stand the thought of staying in.  I figured it'd be a great day to go to the zoo since it was always too hot when we wanted to go over the summer.

Morgan's been to a zoo before, but she was about 15 months old.  She really didn't care very much about the animals.

This time she did.  But she wasn't all that impressed with the zebras, giraffes, and what not...she loved the cat exhibit (they looked just like the pet cats we see every day)...

...the farm animals (particularly the hens -- she chased those poor things)...

...and the ducks.

A few of the exhibits were closed due to the construction for a new exhibit opening in the spring, but I'm glad we got a chance to go.  Danny and I are excited about the new exhibit (Trails of Africa, with elephants and pools of water and mud) and will definitely go back to check it out!

I caught some sweet pictures of Mo and her daddy.

Giggling about something.

We took the stoller in but let her walk most of the time.  She only tried to break free about 10 times the whole visit (to us, that was nothing - ha)! She was a good girl most of the time.

She and her daddy being silly on the way back to the car.

Just a little proof that I was there, too. :)

After the zoo, we went and had dinner with Bo Jackson.  Kidding!  But he was at the bar while we were eating dinner at Logan's. We would have never noticed him if our server hadn't told us he was there.

Then our evening ended on a very funny note.  While Danny and I were folding laundry, Morgan wanted to take her shirt off.  It was a little hot in the house from the warm day, so I didn't see it as a problem.  For a while she walked around in only her Pull-Up.  I know she's fascinated by the straps on the Pull-Up and I knew it was only a matter of time before she pulled the whole thing off.  Well, that time came, and I didn't pay it any mind because I was just minutes away from giving her a bath.  While we were putting up our last few items, she comes in our bedroom and says "Eeeeew!"  I remember thinking "What if she 'went' on the floor?  Naaaah..."  Well, I then hear Danny say, "Gerri, come here!"  She'd left a little surprise on the living room floor.  Danny walks through the house and finds two more surprises on her bedroom floor.  Can you say HILARIOUS?  I laughed so hard while cleaning up all the little surprises and her daddy kept calling her a little dog that poops around the house!  I kept remembering her walking into our room with her nose turned up saying "Eeew!"  Haha!  It ended even better for me because Danny took her straight to the tub, gave her a bath, and put her in her PJs.  That's usually my job, so the Monster sort of helped Mama out and didn't even know it! :)

Have a good Friday!
