Holidays in Orlando

I'm finally taking a moment to blog about our Christmas and New Years. We spent them in Orlando and got back home last night. Of course we had to be at work this morning and I still haven't unpacked all of our bags. I'm still tired, so this blog post isn't going to be what I envisioned.  I hope the pictures do a great job of telling about the trip.  This is a busy week for me, so if I don't post now, I don't know when I'll get the chance...

So, anyway, we went to Orlando with my inlaws because of Bama's bowl game and got a chance to go to some parks.  We were wondering if Disney would be worth it for Morgan since she's just two, but we ended up going.  We did Magic Kingdom and and she actually rode a couple of things.  She also saw the parade, which I think she liked.  We also did Sea World.  Danny, Ashleigh, and I did Islands of Adventure one of the days, too.

Since Santa knew Morgan would be out of town on Christmas, he made a special visit to our house two nights early.  Here is Morgan opening what Santa brought her.

We were on the road all of Christmas Eve, so Christmas was our first full day there.  Even though we had no plans whatsoever, I dressed Morgan in her "Christmas" dress and we walked around the hotel admiring the Christmas decorations.

Here is Mo with her PaPa. She was obsessed with the staircases at the hotel, and my FIL took her on them many times.

She likes to quickly walk up them by herself without holding on to the rails or anyone's hands.  Crazy, but we watch her and stay very close.

Looking at the pretty ornaments on the big tree.

My hair is a mess in this pic, but I had to post it.  We have one just like it from last year (and the year before, though I have no idea where that one is).

The hotel hosted a little kids party and games several days we were there.  Morgan loved being down there with the other kids and made several friends.

Trying on her new sunglasses they gave her.

Islands of Adventure.  It was cold, but we had a good time.

The Harry Potter ride was great (this is a pic of the castle).  Neither of us had read the HP books or even watched the movies, but the excitement around this ride was so crazy we decided to wait hours to ride.  We got tickets and went to a nearby restaurant while we waited.  I'd say we got on the ride about 10 PM, but it was totally worth it.
Disney World

 "It's a Small World" Ride

Teacup Ride

Parade and all the Disney Princesses.  Here's Snow White.

The Beast.  I don't remember seeing Belle, one of my favorites.

 Sleeping Beauty and Ariel

 Princess Jasmine

 Princess Tiana

 Toy Story

I thought the soldiers were neat.

And of course the big guy in the red suit was there.

I never did the Presidents show at Disney World.  It was pretty nice.

The castle at night -- gorgeous.

On the bus heading back.

I can tell that little girl's been to Disney World!

Between Morgan's PaPa, Honey, and Auntie Ashleigh, she came home from this trip with a little monkey named Joe, a Mickey, a Minnie, a Shamu, a Minnie purse, two balloons, and two sets of Minnie ears.  This pic was taken after Disney World (like you couldn't tell).

My MIL's friend's daughter, Elizabeth, flew down to go to the game.  It was my first time meeting her -- sweet girl!

Elizabeth, Mo, and me with Shamu.

Shamu with the Monster.

Baby dolphins!  Awww!

Morgan liked the dolphin nursery -- she didn't want to leave!

The Shamu Show!  I was excited about this because I'd never been to Sea World.  Orcas are so fascinating. If you look closely, you'll notice a baby orca!  (He's about two months old and they're letting the public help name him.  Go here to vote!)  :)

I thought Morgan would be fascinated with this show.  Wrong. She cared more about her stuffed Shamu than the big whales performing in front of her.

Splashing the crowd.  We were sure to sit in the no-soak zone! :)

Underwater viewing -- look at the little baby!

Ash and Elizabeth on the paddle boats.

Morgan and her PaPa watching us on the paddle boats.

Elizabeth and Ash at an M&Ms store in the mall.

We went out for New Year's and had a great time.

And then the trip ended with some good home-cooking.  We went to Harolyn's condo and had a New Year's feast with family and friends.

Overall we had a great trip, but we were gone for pretty much 10 days.  That is a long time to travel -- and then with a two-year old!  So glad to be home!  I hope to use the rest of this week to rest up and prepare for starting grad school next week.

Overall, we had a good holiday break!

I know I'm going to hate this post in the morning...forgive any typos or crazy talk.  I'm exhausted and still have things to do.  Have a great week, everyone! :)
