I mentioned a couple of days ago that I'd been doing a little digging into my family history.  I've managed to trace back to the 1880s for both my mom and dad's family.  My Aunt L in Atlanta has been really helpful in giving me names and such for my dad's family.  I've found them all in census records and learned the names, approximate birth and death dates for them, their parents, siblings, etc.  It's a lot take in.  I can see how it takes people months and years to do this.

My aunt has even given me some stuff that belonged to my greats years ago.  Really precious stuff.

This belonged to my Great-Great Grandmother, E.  She was born in the 1880s.  That's 100 years before I was born.

And this belonged to her daughter, my Great-Grandmother C. She was born in early 1900, which is 100 years before MY daughter was born.

A few weeks ago when we received a "Christmas" package from my Aunt L, I found these little treasures in the box, too.   These are dresses my Great-Grandma C made for her dolls.  I actually remember my Great-Grandma C.  It's a very vague memory, but a memory, nonetheless.

I feel like I'm just getting started with this family research thing. There's so much information out there, yet not enough...if that makes sense.  I look forward to continuing.

Hope everyone's having a good week.   Be back soon.
