Still Here! {+ NY Pics}

I haven't posted in a week, so I wanted to check in.  It's been super busy around here, so I can't seem to find the time to put up a decent update.  School started back for us earlier this week, and then we're preparing to go out of town.  I enjoyed my two weeks off.  Didn't realize how much I needed it.  I relaxed and even read a couple of novels.

Over the break, we also got some things done around the house.  I've told you I'm the queen of clutter, and I'm trying to give up that title.  We've gotten rid of so much stuff.  I finally went in M's room and got all of that baby stuff out of the closet so that we can once again attempt to make her room her playroom.  Our living room looks like a daycare times 10!  We kept a lot of stuff we could use for Baby #2, but moved quite a bit of it to the garage.  Which would have been impossible if we hadn't of CLEANED OUT THE GARAGE, too!  HUGE!  We got rid of stuff we'd  I'd been holding onto for years. Is it weird that my old college textbooks were sentimental to me?  It took me eight years to let them go. I also found more old pics (do I smell Friday Flashback posts?).  We even found old love letters I wrote DK - ha!  We both had a good laugh from that!  We've still managed to avoid putting things in the attic.  And if I keep going with this attempt to live the minimalist lifestyle, then maybe we can one day start parking BOTH cars in the garage instead of one!

Anyhoo, I still want to get up a post that wraps up our year, and tell you about some things I'd like to do THIS year. I can't really call them New Year Resolutions since I started most of them weeks or months before the year ended, but I still want to keep them going into the new year and beyond.

Speaking of the new year, here are some pics from last weekend.  We brought in the new year in Atlanta with the same bunch we brought in the new year with last year (in Orlando).  Good times, as always!

D & C hosted New Year's at their place.

Board games with girls vs. guys.  Just like last time, there was a whole lot of cheating on the guys' end!

Love this guy.

As usual, I was the first to go to bed out the of the bunch -- I can't hang!  Shortly after midnight, I was struggling to keep my eyes open, but there were no signs of the party letting up.  I knew I wouldn't make it (plus I was up super late the night before doing things around the house).  By 2AM, I was done!  I went downstairs and climbed under the covers.  Despite the loud music and voices above me, I was out immediately.  Got up the next morning and learned that folks were up until like 5AM!  I didn't stand a chance!

I hope everyone's having a great week and that the new year has been good to you!
