"Where did my easy baby go? And who is this crazy little three-year-old living with me?"

I recently ordered M's very first baby book - a collection of first-year pics. I've been so spoiled by the instant sharing done through this blog that I've never just sat down and added pics of my kid to an album.

I ordered this one through PhotoBin (actually it was a Groupon deal), and it was on my doorstep a few days later.   And I love it so much that I'll probably get her a book made for every year of her life.  It only took an hour or so to create since all I did was go back through my blog and grab some of her first-year pics. (Isn't that cover pic adorable?  I actually took that pic!)

It's hard to believe those two kids are the same person.  That baby was so sweet, easy, and happy.

That three year old?  Well, she's definitely happy. And she's sweet for the most part.  But easy?...

While most of the time, M is sweet and spunky and lots of fun, she is also sassy, dramatic, and very testy at times. Like two mornings last week we had SO much drama getting ready for school (absolute worst time of the day for drama, of course).  She didn't want to take off her skirt and leggings (that she puts on every morning when she wakes up) to put on her regular school clothes.

She cries and cries and resists like I'm forcing her to wear hot metal to school.  "I don't like those paaaants!"  "I don't like that dreeeeeeess!"  " I want to wear my skirt and tiiiiights!" I mean big, fat tears, y'all..

I really thought this kinda stuff didn't start until the kid reached middle school.  I can picture it now, 10 years from now:

"You will wear what I buy because I'm the mama and I make the money. When you get a job and buy your own clothes, THEN you can wear what you want."

The last time I told M something like that, she thought for a second then turned to her daddy and said, "Daddy, can I have a job?"

**sigh**

Someone tell me this gets easier.

Have a good one, yall. :)

  2. I swear her and my 3 yr old are sisters! True sassy fashionista drama queens! Lol. I need to do a photo album. I only have one album but I have thousands of pics on the computer. I hope and pray we get an easy streak for a bit before high school!
