Sunny Love with Friends

Summer, summer, summer, oh, how we're loving you.  Even though we can't officially call you "summer" for a few more weeks, you've been pretty good to us.  Mid-80s temperatures, yes.  And we can BREATHE when we go outside, yes.

But soon I know you're going to show your true colors.  You're kinda rough on us southerners.  You're more than hot.  You're sticky and humid and breath-taking (and not in a good way).  Even we outdoors-lovers can only take you in small doses.

So please be kind to us a little longer.  So we can actually enjoy every minute of days like this:

As I mentioned, M and I spent last weekend at my mom's.  On Saturday evening while my mom got her some rest, M and I met up with my friend K, her kids, and another family for dinner and a park date.

After deciding that the playground was a little way too crowded that day, we took advantage of the more relaxing part of the park -- the lake. Luckily the kids didn't mind at all.  There were plenty of fun things to see and do.

K and I have been friends since we were kids.  She's another friend I don't see often, but someone I have a ton of of childhood (especially teenage) memories with. (Again, don't be fooled by the round belly.  I've been eating well the past few months, y'all. Don't you just love how pictures remind you of those things? *sigh*)

K's oldest son is actually my godson.  M loved following him around that day, and he was kind enough to put up with her.  And K's youngest boy is the most content baby. He was so good the whole time.
My little sunshine certainly enjoyed herself.  I could barely get her to stop for a pic.

And a pic of me that I actually sorta like?? Gotta save this, y'all (rare occasion).

The kids (and M's stick).

M tried to do every thing the big kids did.

Including climbing this steep hill.

And made it.  Funny girl.
We enjoyed our dinner and park date on Saturday.

Good times, good times.

  1. Fun! Y'all having some good weather. It's already ninety or more degrees here in TX.
