Miami in January: Poolin' Around

Y'all. I am SO tired. (So forgive me if this post is kinda all over the place.)

Today I went back to work, and it was a struggle getting my mind right.  I tried psyching myself out by posting on Twitter last night that I was slowly getting back into teacher mode (I was trying).  Then I chanted to my husband this morning while getting dressed that I was back in teacher mode (still trying).  I even went to work earlier than normal so I'd have a head start on the day.

Still didn't work.  My mind and body were still on vacation.

Thankfully I have just one morning class, so I only had to fake it once.  A big planning block gave me a little time to get myself together. As the day went on, my mojo became stronger.   By the time I met with my last class, I was on point.  Yeah, that's about four class periods too late, but there's always tomorrow! :)

I can't believe how beat I still feel.

Thankfully my in-laws are keeping M for a couple of days, which gives me more time in the day to catch up on everything. I even did something today that I try not to do -- brought work home.  Being behind is no fun.  Gotta catch up.

But only after I tell you some more about the trip.  I finally got my pictures all separated. (Looks like my trip recap will be about five or six posts!  WHY do I take so many pictures?)

Today let's talk pool time.

The pool area at the Fontainebleau is CRA-ZY. I remember on our last trip how we mentioned that M would LOVE it there.  Boy, were we right.  She and her daddy spent hours every day swimming.

Headed out.

With three of her five grandparents.
(L to R - my mom, father-in-law, and mother-in-law)

Two of her three grandmothers.

With my friend J.

Remember J?  She lives in South Florida and came over to spend the day with us.  Seriously, this pic was a quick, "Smile, J!" snapshot by the pool.  How does she make it look SO glamorous?

THIS is how *I* look at the pool (squinty eyes and hot mess hair - ha!). At least my child and sister-in-law are cute!

Oh, I guess this one looks decent.
(Or maybe I just love the rare pics of Babycakes with me.)

Anyhoo, these were a mixture of pics from our days at the pools. I've still got beach pics, nightime fun pics, touristy pics, and a few from game day (DK, his parents, and sister went into the game.  Mom, M, and I watched from the hotel room).  Several more pics to share! :)

I hope everyone's having a great week. SO glad tomorrow is Friday.  I'll be running on adrenaline alone...

Be back soon, y'all.

PS - Any tips for taking pool pics?  Folks' complexions always look gray, blue, or turquoise in my pool pics...
