Spring Break 2013: ISLAND LOVE

Hey, peeps.  Hope your week is going well so far.

So about our Spring Break...

We had no plans for Spring Break until maybe two weeks ago.  Anytime my husband and sister-in-law get to talking about "going somewhere," plans can change very quickly...

(Sis-in-Law)
We ended up taking a three day/three night cruise to the Bahamas. The cruise was basically made up of two sea days and a day in Nassau.

M with her Honey and PaPa (DK's parents).

Before heading to the beach on our island day, we had lunch at Twin Brothers
Then spent the afternoon at Cabbage Beach.

Every time we go to a beach, M starts off not wanting anything to do with the water.  But as usual, she eventually warmed up.  She loved trying to outrun the waves this time.  She also enjoyed finding seashells.

The waves were pretty rough that day (and huge), so we saw several funny (and thankfully safe) incidents of people who were unexpectedly swept by them.

Including these two:

..and boy, was it HILARIOUS.  They were out just a tad farther than this pic shows, and a big wave came and swept them both off their feet.  I wasn't worried one bit -- M's TeeTee was holding her tight as they both went down - HARD!  DK, his dad, and I were chilling on the beach when it happened, and I thought I would die from laughing.  I literally had a coughing fit (still trying to beat this yuckiness in my system) it was so funny!  I just knew it had traumatized my child, but nope.  She went right back out there - ha!

This was my third time in the Bahamas, yet it was my first time experiencing the water when it wasn't extremely calm. It was FUN - and thankfully my kid thought so, too!

Speaking of my kid, tomorrow I'll be posting about her experience on the ship -- particularly our experience cruising with a little one.  Like any parent, before going, I thought, "This could be really good or really bad..."

Check back tomorrow to see if she was all smiles the whole time (like in these pics), or if we experienced bouts of drama...

Happy Tuesday, peeps!

Love,
G
