Six Flags

Ever since M went to Six Flags last summer, she'd get so excited when we passed the park on the way to Atlanta. My sister-in-law noticed her excitement and promised she'd take her to Six Flags this summer -- and she did!

We decided to park outside of the city and ride the Marta in -- for no reason other than to let M ride it (she loves buses, trains, etc.).

We stayed in the city the night before Six Flags to hang out with my in-laws after they wrapped up their weekend in the city for a convention. We had dinner at a little sports grill downtown, and then took a short walk in Centennial Park.

Our view.
No matter how many times I stay downtown, I'll always take a pic of the Ferris wheel. I think it's such a cool addition to Centennial Park. (We rode it when it opened last year. It's too pricey to ride every time we visit, but it makes for great pics.)

But someone didn't care much about not riding because Six Flags was the next day. :)

W/her TeeTee.
With her daddy.

M did all the kiddie rides and we all did several of the "family" rides (Monster Mansion, Mine Train, etc).  And we spent a little time at Six Flags' new water park addition, Hurricane Harbor.

It's nice! Next year, we'll probably get a season pass.

And this girl is just like her mother -- she had already planned to get her an amusement park treat (she's so much like her mother, it's the first thing she wanted when we got to the park)! I'd had my heart set on a red candy apple (you just can't get those anywhere these days), and the doggone red candy apple machine was broken.   I was sooooooooooooooooooo bummed, y'all -- ha!

But we had a GREAT day at Six Flags. We're looking forward to visiting again next year.

The Skyview at night because it's gorgeous.
