And a Whole Lot More

Our life over the past few months has been filled with time with family, friends, basketball, school functions, etc. We got in some time with one of my nieces with plans to see the other one soon.

I took the girls to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. This was M's third time going, and she was even more curious this year. It was my niece's first time going, so she was able to see a lot of the stuff she'd learned in school (and more).

We also went to the park and had a picnic (Guthrie's chicken fingers -- YUM).

We've gone to many basketball games.

Sometimes I take paper and pencil for the little one to use when she gets antsy (same thing my mama used to do for me at church). This day she wrote a list of everyone in her class, and then drew pictures of them.

Then we our game started, she was coaching from the bleachers.

It was hilarious.

Speaking of basketball, we recently traveled with the team to Atlanta for a tournament. The bus company ran out of regular charter buses, so we got this RV/luxury bus thingy.

M enjoyed the bunks.

Being silly in the hotel room.

Our friends from Atlanta were in the same tournament, so we hung out with them for a little bit. M and M are best friends one minute...and then they fuss and tell on each other the next. Life.

My sisters came, and my youngest one (middle, former ballplayer) coached from the bleachers. Hilarious. She has so much of my dad's personality.

We went to a Hawks game, too. M wasn't really interested in the cheerleaders. She wanted cotton candy.

This was back during the holidays, where we had a nice, fun Christmas dinner at the head basketball coach's house.

I cannot even remember exactly when we went to McWane, but it's just one of those random days we put our membership to use.

It never gets old to her.

Oh -- there's a Christmas tree back there. So I'm going to say this was sometime in December. :)

We were off for Veterans Day, so I met up with one of my best friends for lunch. She moved back to Alabama over a year ago, and we promised ourselves we wouldn't live in the same metropolitan area (though she probably lives 45 min from me) and not see each other in person every once in a while!

More basketball with my silly girl.

Christmas crafts.

Skating with her friend. They also go see movies together sometimes -- daddy/daughter dates (her dad is a coaching friend of DK's and they take the girls to the dollar movie every once in a while.) It gives this mama a few hours to herself! :)

And back in the fall, our department held a social for our Finance Academy students. There was a rented a photobooth setup -- so the teachers had some fun, too. I love these pictures, though we're missing a couple from our department.

A few of  us have little ones and are married to coaches -- which means when there are events like this, the kids have to come with us! Fun!

Me and mine.

Fun!

Whew! I think I've recapped most of what's been going on with us the past few months. I know I've missed some things, but I can't remember everything.

These next few months will be busy as spring always is. Work has already been crazy busy, but it gets even crazier this time of year. We've got our student conference in mid-April, and a couple of weeks before that, I'll be in Chicago for my professional association convention.

In the next couple of weeks, I'll be renewing our membership to the rec so I can start back running. I actually miss it. And so do my jiggly thighs, waistline, and arse. Out of control.

I'll also be finding a new gym for Morgan. I became very unhappy with her old gym when we got a new coach. Last week was our last week, so I'm on the hunt (if you B'ham-area mamas have daughters in gymnastics and like where you are, hit me up).

In the meantime, I'm going to try to keep my head above water during this busy time of year. I hope you and your family are well!

I'm going enjoy the rest of this day and hope the snow is on its way.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Gerri
